Summary
This presentation will cover multiple excipients, fillers, preservatives, stabilizers, and dyes that are added to medications as "inert" ingredients. However, some patients can have significant allergic reactions to these ingredients from mild rashes, extending to anaphylaxis. Information will be provided on the regulation of these ingredients.

Learning Objectives for Pharmacists
At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
1. Define the differences in inactive medication components.
2. Describe how inactive ingredients are regulated in the US and other countries where drugs are manufactured.
3. Recognize various inactive medication ingredients that can cause clinical reactions in patients.
4. Identify how dietary intolerances can impact a patient's response to inactive medication ingredients.
